When hardware innovation meets adhesive expertise
At the beginning of February, the hhs solution center in Krefeld was transformed into a hub for technical progress and industrial exchange.
Over a period of four days, the “Gluing Days” took place, an event format that deliberately focused on information, transparency, and technical depth. Each of these four days featured a different leading international adhesive manufacturer as a guest. In alphabetical order, these were:
Eukalin
H.B. Fuller
Henkel
Jowat
The goal of these days was clearly defined: a technical exchange on equal terms, where Baumer hhs hardware met the specific adhesive formulations of the respective partners.

Xmelt fusion: Benchmark in efficiency and sustainability
The technical discussions and live demonstrations focused on the presentation of the new Xmelt fusion hot melt adhesive melting equipment series. The decision-makers and technical colleagues in attendance were particularly interested in the performance data compared to the market average. The system sets new standards in process speed: The heating-up time was already short in the first Xmelt generation and is now less than 50% compared to the competition. In a production environment that relies on flexibility and rapid operational readiness, this represents a significant competitive advantage.
The topic of sustainability was also analyzed objectively. The Xmelt fusion consumes 30% less energy compared to its direct predecessor model. This is achieved, among other things, by the familiar 2-zone melting tank with an optimized tank design that delivers a melting capacity of 14 kg/h even in the basic version. This increase in efficiency not only contributes to reducing operating costs, but also actively supports companies in achieving their CO2 reduction targets.

Data-supported processes thanks to the new adhesive database
One technical highlight that attracted particular interest from all participants is the integratedadhesive database. In modern production, not all adhesives are the same; every application and every packaging machine has specific requirements in terms of temperature and processing. The database in the Xmelt fusion allows these parameters to be stored precisely. This prevents operating errors and ensures consistently high application quality.
The basic version of the system is controlled via an integrated interface, while the advanced version is equipped with an external 7" display for even more comprehensive functions. An integrated maintenance manager also supports maintenance teams in planning service intervals in advance and minimizing unplanned downtime.

System overview: The interaction of components
Adhesive technology is always a system performance. Therefore, the demonstrations at the hhs solution center were not limited to the melting device. The entire interaction of the components was evaluated:
• Xmelt fusion: The highly efficient melter.
• PXH 1000: The new electric hot melt valve with the power of a pneumatic valve.
• DF hoses: The use of hoses with a metal inner core prevents adhesive burns in the hose by preventing oxygen exchange.

The live demonstrations were carried out using adhesives that had been selected and provided in advance by the manufacturers themselves. This underlines the partnership-based approach of the Gluing Days: the hardware supports the requirements of the adhesive in order to achieve the best possible results in industrial packaging production.
The demonstration clearly showed that the coordinated components of a complete system represent the most ecological and economical solution!
We would like to thank all participants for the intensive technical dialogue and valuable cooperation during these days. #letssticktogether
