Marco Ahler inspires at the 49th Munich Symposium

A few days ago, Baumer hhs took part in the renowned 49th Munich Adhesives and Finishing Symposium, which is regarded as one of the most important platforms for professional exchange in the adhesives industry.

Marco Ahler, Head of Research and Development at Baumer hhs, gave a groundbreaking presentation to an enthusiastic audience of experts, highlighting the latest developments and challenges in the packaging industry.

Marco began with an introduction to Baumer hhs GmbH and presented the company as an innovation leader in the field of adhesive application. He then turned his attention to the central topic of the event: the increasing importance of sustainability and its impact on the gluing process in the packaging industry.

Challenges and opportunities in sustainable gluing

The presentation impressively demonstrated how the increasing demand for more sustainable packaging is also changing the requirements for adhesives and their application technology. Marco discussed also the challenges posed by the development of environmentally friendly adhesives and the resulting opportunities for the industry.

A particular focus was on the latest developments in contactless adhesive application, which optimize both energy efficiency and material consumption. These technologies enable companies to produce more sustainably and save costs at the same time - an approach that focuses on both the environment and economic efficiency.

Precision through intelligent monitoring

Another focus of the presentation was the importance of innovative technologies for condition monitoring and quality control. Baumer hhs offers solutions that enable precise monitoring of the gluing process and thus ensure consistently high quality. These systems are particularly relevant for production with bio-based adhesives, whose properties differ from conventional adhesives.

SUGRA - Sustainable gluing of the future

The presentation was rounded off by a presentation of the SUGRA (Sustainable Gluing with Renewable Adhesives) research project funded by the Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e.V. (Agency for Renewable Resources). This project stands for the development of adhesives based on renewable raw materials and their integration into highly efficient application systems. It shows how ecological responsibility and technological innovation can go hand in hand.

Baumer hhs would like to thank the organizers of the Munich Adhesives and Finishing Symposium for the invitation and the perfect organization. The event provided an excellent opportunity to share pioneering developments with a high-caliber audience and gain valuable insights from the industry.

The solutions and projects on show once again underlined Baumer hhs' claim to be an innovation leader in driving forward sustainable adhesive solutions in packaging production and accompanying the industry into a more environmentally friendly future.
