Baumer hhs integrates hotmelt on big screen
Significantly reduces set up time and waste.
German adhesive application specialist Baumer hhs enhanced their integrated systems for gluing and quality assurance with the addition of hot melt application. Glue pattern, overhead glue monitoring and hot melt operation can now be set up and monitored from one screen significantly reducing set up time and enhancing monitoring during production to avoid waste. The operator is able to set up the job all from one side of the machine and set up hot melt from the same screen.
The hot-melt system Xmelt reduces down time by providing maintenance information such as gun/hoses types and operating hours for each item. The hot melt tanks range from a capacity of 4kg up to the new 25kg or the PUR system with its "melt on demand" feature - all solutions for hot-melt gluing are integrated to the XTS² user interface.
XTS² was introduced at drupa 2008 first with one central benefit in mind to significantly reduce setup time. All settings needed for a job are placed on the front screen page. The additional benefit of the Xtend² is the feature to store all set up parameters for a job, this includes glue pattern and QA set up parameters. Production data on carton quantity, cartons ejected during set up, cartons ejected during operation and mode of error are shown in real time on the screen as well as transmitted through the network for future analysis.
Focusing on glue detection, Baumer hhs have 3 types of dedicated sensors for XTS² to suit every application. The ULT-300 for overhead detection of dispersion glues, the unique HLT-300 for overhead detection of hotmelt adhesives and the LNT-300 for side seam glue detection. Cartons that do not match quality criteria can automatically be ejected or marked to prevent them from being dispatched to customers.
Xtend² the latest technology to significantly reduce set up time, improve productivity and carton quality.
