Next Generation Corrugated gluing

Visitors to the Sino-Corrugated fair in south China in April have been the first to see the next generation gluing and quality assurance in corrugated board processing. On first sight there is a touch screen more than doubling the size of its predecessor and blank guides open to both sides. Renowned for its solidity, Baumer hhs added modularity features that ease entry level solutions and at the same time extend camera verification.
The market leader in the field of gluing and monitoring in corrugated cardboard box making - Baumer hhs GmbH in Germany - has extensively optimised the familiar system. The key components that have been used up to now, such as the high pressure piston pump and the familiar water bath, are naturally retained in their previous form.
The 3-nozzle head and glue sensor can now be easily moved from one side of the machine to the other. This significantly reduces cost and set up time when changing from inside glue flaps to outside glue flaps. Still something of a rarity, the demand for outer glue flaps will increase in the future, due to rising numbers of automatic packaging lines. In this respect, the quick and easy exchange of the application heads and monitoring camera will become of significant importance.
The entry level MLT-40 sensor enables monitoring of gluing. Are the glue lines where they are supposed to be? Is the machine feed correct? If a production log is required for the customer's benefit, an integrated solution - namely, gluing and monitoring - is the answer. Even die cutting waste that is covering the glue flap is detected.
